Successful and rewarding participation in sport and physical activity, whether for enjoyment or competition, relies on the development of critical thinking, communication and fundamental movement skills.
In September, our Community Sport Team will host a SportStart workshop, sharing this philosophy with parents, teachers, coaches, administrators and members of community organisations who share an interest in physical literacy.
This professional learning and development opportunity is open to anyone wishing to upskill in this area.
Date: Wednesday 5 September 2018
Time: 9am to 3pm
Venue: To be confirmed (Christchurch location)
Cost: $20
The cost covers venue hire and morning tea. Participants provide their own lunch, and are asked to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for practical activities.
Our aim is for participants to share their knowledge, increase their understanding and feel empowered to apply their learnings in their everyday delivery. To achieve this, our team believes in the use of practical activities and scenarios as the main facilitation technique.
