Top Team on the Coast

Sport Canterbury’s Top Team Challenge carries on its summer of fun right across the region with a trip to the West Coast this week.

From 22 March to 26 March, our Top Team Coordinator Shani Clark, will be delivering the challenge to 15 different primary and secondary schools.

From Lake Brunner School and Greymouth High School to Barrytown School and Hokitika Primary, over 1000 young people across the West Coast region are in for a fun-filled week.

The occasion is made even more significant because it’s the first trip for Shani and the Top Team Challenge over to the Coast since 2018 (Top Team in 2020 was cancelled due to Covid).

Shani is excited to deliver these sessions to young people on the West Coast.

“This will be my first experience delivering Top Team on the West Coast, after having to cancel our trip in 2020 due to the national lockdown I am excited to finally be able to bring the programme to the students in the West Coast.”

She is passionate about what the challenge has to offer and believes there is something special that Top Team can give people.

“Top Team is special because it encourages participants to step outside their comfort zone, develop teamwork and problem-solving skills, all whilst having loads of fun.

“I love delivering the Top Team programme and observing the joy it brings to people’s days. The programme is fantastic because it brings a unique experience to its participants,” she adds.
