After some time away and a few different formats, we are pleased to announce that this year’s Sport and Recreation Awards will be coming back as an in-person event!
We are looking forward to connecting with our Canterbury community again and welcome you to celebrate with us on Friday the 28th of April 2023. Details on the time and event venue will be released shortly. Keep an eye out on our website and social media for these details and how to purchase tickets soon.
One aspect we haven’t changed from last year’s awards is our evolved award categories. These will stay the same to reflect the mahi Sport Canterbury undertakes and promotes within the community, as well as acknowledging, in a more rounded form, high level success. Check out more details on the categories and the eligibility criteria further down this page.
Nominations are CLOSED.
Award Categories
We have recognised that the landscape of RST run sport awards have been changing around the country, to reflect the work RST’s undertake within the community and the balanced approach and participation drive from Sport NZ.
To place ourselves ahead of the curve, we have reviewed our past award categories and have evolved these to start the journey towards a more holistic approach that acknowledges those in our community doing great work, in numerous different forms.
Certain award categories have been amended to acknowledge multiple winners. This has been done to not only streamline the awards, but to show that commitment and achievement can be made at all levels of sport and that achievement is not one-size-fits-all.
