Hellers Pegasus Fun Run

Monday, 2 October, 2017

Thank you to everyone who took part in the 2017 Hellers Pegasus Fun Run.

Over 1100 participants of all ages took part in the 2017 Hellers Pegasus Fun Run in initially cool conditions on Sunday.

Individuals and families completed the 11km, 6km or 2.5km courses and with the event full of exciting family-friendly attractions, it made for a memorable day out.

Sport Canterbury event manager, Jules Wilke says the event continues to go from strength-to-strength as a must-do family event in Canterbury.

“We had another tremendous day and it was great to see so many families getting active and many more individuals making the most of spring’s arrival,” she says.

“The town of Pegasus provides a great back-drop for the event every year and we know we have many regulars who look forward to the event and I’m sure we’ve converted some first-timers to become regulars as well after Sunday.”

This year, a number of activity providers came on board wanting to be part of the day including Cheapskates Skate Skool, Pedalmania and bouncy castles from Mike Pero and Big Bounce Hire.

Sport Canterbury introduced the event in response to sport and recreation opportunities being affected by the region’s earthquakes.

Hellers has been the event’s outstanding major sponsor since 2014.

“Cantabrians welcomed the chance to warm up after winter and Hellers have been an awesome fit as sponsor, with their history and culture of community involvement,” Jules says. “We are grateful for their continued partnership.”

The next Sport Canterbury event will be the Mitre 10 MEGA Run to Remember on Saturday, February 24.
