Event Overview and Information - 2015

In 2015, the 10km course has been revisited, with the track extending to the edge of Waikuku township, bordering the forest track of Tuhaitara Coastal Park. The 5.5km course and 2.5km family event remain the same.

“This an event that appeals to everyone," says Sport Canterbury Chief Executive Julyan Falloon. "It’s about getting out there, setting goals and being part of our active, motivated community.”

This winter, Canterbury was recognised as the region in New Zealand with the highest level of physical activity, says Falloon.

“Events like this make it easy for people of all levels of motivation and ability to get out, get involved and enjoy the benefits of being active.

“The course takes in a stunning part of Canterbury, a region where opportunities to get out and be active are endless. Most people who take part appreciate what we have as a region in terms of recreation, sport and physical activity – and that adds to the atmosphere on the day.”

Since 2011, 4,355 Cantabrians have made this a big day out with family, friends and workmates.

Hellers has been a valued partner and enjoys seeing their own staff get involved,” says Falloon. “Many workplaces in Canterbury could follow this example. It’s easier to set and stick to goals when you’re in a social or workplace environment."

Sport Canterbury would like to thank the following sponsors for their support of the 2015 Hellers Pegasus Fun Run:

Hellers, More FM, Northern Outlook, The Athlete’s Foot, ThermaTech, PAK'nSAVE, Pegasus, Visit Waimakariri, Waimakariri District Council, The Community Trust and Te Kōhaka o Tūhaitara Trust.
