Sport Canterbury is a charitable trust with offices in Christchurch, Ashburton, Timaru and Greymouth. Our team delivers funding assistance, resources, programmes and events that reach over 500,000 people each year.
Nearly 700 swimmers have taken part in the 2013 Sport Canterbury Swim Series at Corsair Bay. To encourage those without any previous open water experience to have a go, we have introduced a new 'Splash 'n' Dash' option ($2 entry fee and 200m circuit). This is the perfect chance to literally 'test the water.' Sport Canterbury's final pre-Xmas Swim Series event is next Wednesday 18 December. Many thanks to our event partners Surf Life Saving New Zealand, Christchurch Earthquake Appeal Trust and Active Timing. Event #5 - Race Report - 11 December 2013
The earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 have given rise to a need for sporting groups to revisit planning for the future. Sport Canterbury intends to promote access to this research, providing links to key planning documents.
