Welcome to Issue #4 of Inside Sport Canterbury. Summer continues to be hot in our region, although we are fortunate in not having to deal with the extremes of our neighbours across the Tasman. I'm sure we all feel for the families affected by the fires and it is heartening to see the sporting community is at the forefront of raising funds to assist those in greatest need.
In this issue we chat to Andy Ellis, about the start of the Super 14 and his design for a bloke's dream garden. I've looked into my crystal ball and predict a Crusaders v Sharks final and if I'm totally one-eyed, maybe Crusaders v Hurricanes.
We also cover Christchurch's newest basketball side, a heart-warming story of an 11-year-old lad who travels to Auckland every weekend to play baseball, and Sport Canterbury's Women's Festival. This event is a great opportunity for women to have a go at something new, ranging from dragon boating to scuba diving. Registration forms can be downloaded here. So why not get a group of girlfriends together and have a go!

If your sporting interests lie in watching elite events, check out our new sports travel section.
Best wishes
