Hellers Pegasus Fun Run
The first fun run of springtime has Cantabrians talking – giving families and workmates an excuse to move on from winter by setting a goal and training together.
For the fourth year in a row, the Hellers Pegasus Fun Run offers a challenge within reach – 10km and 5.5km courses, plus a 2.5km lakeside loop, which many families choose to run together.
Sunday 11 October 2015
The date of this popular event, “the first sign of springtime in Canterbury,” has been set for Sunday 11 October 2015, marking the last weekend of school holidays.

In 2015, the 10km course has been revisited, with the track extending to the edge of Waikuku township, bordering the forest track of Tuhaitara Coastal Park. The 5.5km course and 2.5km family event remain the same.
“This an event that appeals to everyone," says Sport Canterbury Chief Executive Julyan Falloon. "It’s about getting out there, setting goals and being part of our active, motivated community.”
Many participants are taking on the 10km distance as a run for the first time, while others are more experienced, but make it a social event and participate with family and friends.
“Hellers has been a valued partner and enjoys seeing their own staff get involved,” says Falloon. “Many workplaces in Canterbury could follow this example. It’s easier to set and stick to goals when you’re in a social or workplace environment."
