The Holiday Programmes are a great way to keep the children active in the holidays. Sport South Canterbury run these programmes every January, April, July and October scool holidays at a number of venues around South Canterbury.
The aim is to provide opportunities for children to have fun and learn the skills of a variety of modified sports in a safe and friendly environment. By experiencing a variety of sports, children are able to identify different sports they enjoy playing, and have the opportunity to continue participating in these sports via other community programmes.
As well as sport activities in the morning, those children that stay on for the full day programme will participate in some more passive activities that may include off site visits, and arts and crafts.
During the programme a variety of sports are played including:
Badminton, Cricket, Croquet, Indoor Bowls, Rippa Rugby, Netball, Basketball, Soccer, T Ball, Ten Pin Bowling, Unihoc, Short Tennis, Volleyball, Earthball, Parachute, Obsatcle Courses, Football Rounders, Frisbee, Dodgeball, Top Town, Boccia, Tug o War, Jousting, Golf and Lacrosse.
Morning Only Programmes - 9am – 12noon
Full Day Programme 9am - 3pm or 9-5pm

All Active Kids Holiday Programmes are approved for an OSCAR subsidy which means that eligible families may apply for assistance towards the cost of the programme. However, you must pay for the programme at the time of registration, then we are able to complete your paperwork. Once Sport Canterbury has received the subsidy you will be refunded this amount.
An enrolment form is to be completed for each child before the child is able to attend the relevant programme.
