The Sport MId Canterbury After School Programme targets Year 1 - 8 children and is built on the successful Sport Mid Canterbury Holiday Programme. The service operates at the conclusion of the school day, from 3:00pm until 5:30pm.
Weekly and Term plans will be formulated to include the following activities:A strength that Sport Mid Canterbury brings to this area is the focus on creating positive lifestyles and habits around physical activity, not just about providing after school care. This is the unique point of difference for the After School Programme delivered by Sport Mid Canterbury as key providers and deliverers of physical activity in the Canterbury regions.
Sport Mid Canterbury works closely with the Out of School Care and Recreation (OSCAR) Network and other agencies, interfacing with programmes catering for children before and after school, as well as holiday programmes. Our intention is to provide a safe supervised environment for children out of school hours, with a focus on creating life-time habits around regular physical activity. The emphasis will be on fun and enjoyment and creating a positive out of school experience.
