Have Fun and Be Active!


The KiwiSport Holiday Programmes are designed to help improve a child's skill development and coordination ability by providing safe environments and activities, with fully trained enthusiastic staff that encourage enjoyment and achievement.
 

What can we offer?


  • Nine locations offering age appropriate programmes: Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Adventure
  • Having fun while developing skills
  • Enhancing self confidence and social interaction
  • Encouraging a healthy active lifestyle through participating in sport and physical activity.

Hours of Operation:


Morning sessions
9.00 am – 12.30 pm (Except Rolleston and Amberley 8.30 am start)
Full day
9.00 am – 5.00 pm (Except Rolleston and Amberley 5.30 pm finish)

Registration distribution
• sent to all Primary and Intermediate Schools to go out with their school newsletters
• emailed to past participants
• direct mailout to past participants
• available on the Sport Canterbury website

OSCAR Subsidies

All Sport Canterbury KiwiSport Holiday Programmes are approved for an OSCAR subsidy which means that eligible families may apply for assistance towards the cost of the programme. However, you must pay for the programme at the time of registration, then we are able to complete your paperwork. Once Sport Canterbury has received the subsidy you will be refunded this amount.
An enrolment form is to be completed for each child before the child is able to attend the relevant programme.

The collection and use of information about children, families, staff and management is governed by the Privacy Act 1993 and any amendments.

Junior Programme (5 – 8 Years)
Fun, sports related games and activities giving children the opportunity to explore and discover a wide range of skills with equipment appropriate to the age of each child. The programme is delivered by enthusiastic staff that encourage enjoyment and achievement.

Intermediate Programme (8 – 9 Years)
This programme will provide a wide range of sports designed to encourage children to apply and further develop the skills they have. The sports / games are modified to ensure maximum participation, fun and enhance the development of each child’s skills.

Senior Programme (10 – 13)
The Senior Programme gives the opportunity for children to consolidate there skills and apply them in a real game situation. Through game play children are encouraged to develop tactical awareness, strategy and the ‘game sense’ that complement the fundamental skills of children.
