Young Persons Team

Goal

To develop more young people with skills enjoying sport and recreation.

To achieve this we have identified three key areas for our work, primary schools, secondary schools
and community settings such as sports clubs and other community providers. To ensure the continued
participation of young people in sport and recreation we work with schools and the community to educate teachers and coaches, develop excellence in physical education and sport planning and delivery through training and mentoring. We also provide relevant opportunities for young people to participate in skill development and sporting opportunities through schools, sports clubs, Cheapskates Skate Skool and programmes supported by Kiwisport Funding.
