Sport Canterbury is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team in Christchurch. The Fundamental Skills Advisor will have a relevant tertiary qualification and be passionate about sport and young people, with an extensive understanding of the role sport plays in both a school curriculum and community setting.
The Fundamental Skills Advisor will be responsible for:
1. Delivering fundamentals skills professional development to teachers and parents.
2. Managing investment contracts with key sporting organisations through the KiwiSport Regional Partnership Fund for fundamentals programme delivery.
3. Development and implementation of collaborative projects with key sporting organisations to improve the fundamental skills of young people.
The Fundamental Skills Advisor must:
1. Have an in-depth understanding of child development and fundamental skills acquisition.
2. Be an experienced facilitator of professional development for adults.
3. Display proven relationship and contract management skills.
