Sea 2 Sea" is a unique initiative, providing a multi-faceted approach to promoting sustainable physical activity. It was developed to enhance the already successful National Push Play Day campaign, encouraging regular physical activity over either a 40 day (workplace/adults) or a 30 day, culminating on Push Play Day.

In November 2005, the Canterbury West Coast Sports Trust was recognised and honoured for its commitment to making "More People, More Active, More Often" through Sea 2 Sea - The Mainland Challenge by the New Zealand Recreation Association by winning the 2005 SPARC Push Play Award.
The Push Play Award was one of several awards given to organisations who have made exceptional contributions to the recreation industry, and to the health and vitality of their environment and community.
